Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Stand-downs: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from November 2024. ERO found that a large majority of students achieved at expected curriculum levels in reading and maths and a majority in writing, with fairer results for Māori students and for boys in writing a priority. Most students feel they belong, in a caring and inclusive environment.
Only a small majority attend regularly, so the school has not yet reached the Ministry’s attendance targets. ERO noted leadership that builds trust and good quality teaching, a local curriculum that increasingly reflects students’ identities and te ao Māori, good support for students with additional learning needs, and established partnerships with whānau and iwi.
The agreed next steps are to keep improving attendance, make assessment and teaching more consistent to lift equity for Māori students and for boys in writing, evaluate the impact of the school’s actions more systematically, and strengthen te reo Māori, tikanga and mātauranga Māori in everyday classroom practice.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol, and in-zone families can enrol directly online. Out-of-zone places are limited and are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
The school publishes its enrolment dates, open evening and any out-of-zone ballot on its enrolment page each year, with links to zone maps.
