MELAA: Middle Eastern, Latin American and African.
Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from October 2025. ERO found that success and progress are increasing, with a large majority of students at or above the expected curriculum level in reading, writing and maths and fair results across groups. It noted high quality teaching, good support for students with complex needs, well established planning for improvement, and much stronger progress since the last review for students most at risk of not achieving.
A large majority of students attend regularly, but the school is behind the government’s regular attendance target and chronic absence is not yet reducing.
ERO’s priorities are to embed the structured maths and literacy programmes, especially to lift reading comprehension, to give students more ownership of their learning and wellbeing goals, and to keep working on regular attendance. The school also agreed to make the government’s reading, writing and maths targets a key part of its planning.
