What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from May 2024. This kind of report sets out what ERO and the school will evaluate together, here how well students experience a local curriculum that reflects the school’s culture, responds to their strengths and needs, and meaningfully includes te ao Māori.
ERO noted a values-based, relationship-focused setting shaped by the school’s Adventist character, students who are well known by their teachers, staff committed to the school’s vision and to growing their skills together, and a wide mix of languages and cultures that are recognised and celebrated.
From here the school plans to keep refining its local curriculum, improve how it tracks and responds to each student’s strengths and needs, help teachers do this consistently, further embed its Te Tiriti o Waitangi goals, and strengthen learning partnerships between students, whānau, the school and the community.

Enrolling
As a state-integrated school, it gives preference of enrolment to families with a particular or general connection to its Adventist special character, which the school chaplain assesses, and it also has a limited number of non-preference places.
Families complete the enrolment application pack, and those offered a place receive an acceptance letter and a form committing them to pay attendance dues.
International students apply through the school’s separate international enrolment process.
